Following our initial investment in Popeyes UK in July 2023, we are pleased to announce that we have now taken a majority stake in the business following a subsequent investment.
Since our initial investment, the business has performed very well and expanded significantly. Popeyes currently operates 38 locations across the UK, and has plans to open over 30 further sites this year.
Popeyes was founded over 50 years ago in New Orleans and is famous for its Louisiana style fried chicken and the brand’s signature chicken sandwich. It is one of the world’s most globally recognised quick service restaurant brands and has been often regarded as ‘the most loved chicken brand’ for its quality and differentiated offering.
