Nigel Smith

Nigel joined TDR Capital in 2018 and is the Head of ESG & Sustainability at the firm.

He is responsible for ESG & Sustainability at TDR and supporting ESG initiatives across our portfolio companies.

Prior to TDR, Nigel worked for 25 years in the ESG and corporate responsibility field, advising corporates and private equity clients on sustainability issues and responsible business practices. In 2009, Nigel founded Corporate Balance, a corporate responsibility and ESG consultancy. Prior to this, he was Head of Corporate Responsibility Advisory Services at KPMG and spent five years as Corporate Responsibility Director for the British Retail Consortium. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy and Geography from the University of Gloucestershire and a master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Hull.
