We are pleased to announce that on 22 May 2023 the consortium of investors, including TDR funds, controlling LeasePlan group sold 100% of the share capital of LeasePlan to ALD Automotive, a leading European fleet management company listed on Euronext Paris and majority-owned by Société Générale. LeasePlan shareholders now own c.31% of the shares in ALD.
Since acquiring LeasePlan in 2016, the business has undergone a significant operational transformation and has been repositioned from a traditional car leasing company to a leading subscription-based mobility solutions provider with a comprehensive range of integrated services.
The combination has created one of the largest global fleet managers with a c.3.3 million car fleet and is expected to be highly synergistic with the combined group benefitting from increased scale and significant further growth opportunities driven by enhanced combined capabilities.
