Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, Williams Scotsman was formed in 1990 by the merger of two market leaders. Williams Mobile Offices, a Maryland-based company, and California's Scotsman Manufacturing Company.
Williams Scotsman is now part of Algeco Scotsman, the leading global provider of modular space and storage solutions. The combined group manages a fleet of more than 335,000 units with operations in 21 countries throughout Europe and North America, making it the world leader in the space rental sector and one of the world's largest businesses in the rental services sector.
Transaction
In 2007 TDR led the $2.5bn public to private takeover of Williams Scotsman International Inc. With this acquisition, TDR merged Williams Scotsman, Algeco and GE ModSpace to create the leading global participant in the modular space industry.
